Infinite Wisdom was on hand today for the launch of plans for the VTP200 in Birmingham. The launch, which took place at Bank Restaurant in Brindley Place, saw Pettifer Estates announce their plans for the 'Vertiplex 200', a unique vertical leisure construction intended to be built and ready for opening by 2010. A wonderful proposal for the growing city, the VTP would redesign the skyline with its plans for green roofs, illuminated towers of light and multitude of attractions and rides. Heist movies are a long-established, much-loved and successful part of British Cinema. Now, one year on from its first publication date, Infinite Wisdom has optioned Brummie Ron Dawson's first novel, The Last Viking: The Untold Story of the World's Greatest Heist. In Post-World War II the story of Ronnie Wheeler and The Aston Villains mob unfolds as a regiment of ex-soldiers, now hardened criminals, plan a daring raid worthy of the Vikings. Telling of treachorous sea crossings in the dead of night, the destruction of a peaceful island's links to the outside world, the capture of its police force, barbaric torture, high stake gambles, treachery and death and beneath it all a conspirary of Nazi collaborators and the unremitting and merciless powers of Her Majesty’s Secret Services. Infinite Wisdom is currently working with Award Winning Midlands Writer Simon Bovey to develop this tale of unexpected twists and turns into a project fit for the screen. As students across the country nervously await the final days in the build up to their exam results, Infinite Wisdom has just completed work on a streamable Vodcast for UCE Birmingham and S&X Media. The campaign to clarify the Clearing process to prospective students and ease any concerns they may have, will see a 5 minute "Guide to Clearing" be available to vistors to the UCE Birmingham website. A 1 minute overview will also be screened in the lead up to Clearing 2007 on the BBC Big Screen in the centre of Birmingham. In line with a growing demand for its services and the ongoing evolution of its Film and Television development slate, Infinite Wisdom today moves into its new premises in The Big Peg in the heart of Birmingham. Situated in the Jewellery Quarter at the former home of Maverick Television and in the centre of a creative corridor to the second city, the company hopes to utilise its new surroundings to continue to grow its operations in an adaptable and professional space. Producer Michael Ford said "Birmingham is becoming home to a thriving media industry and with Infinite Wisdom's growing body of work in the city it seemed the natural choice to relocate here." Hailing from Wolverhampton, the company has stated it has no intention of pulling up all its roots however, and will continue to maintain its presence in its first home. ____________________________________________________________________ PAST
TENSE: FILM IS THE FUTURE | 18/07/2007
Year 4 and 5 primary school pupils
at Colley Lane School in Halesowen were rewarded
with a DVD to end the Summer Term and commemorate their turn as
stars of the screen. Pupils were invited to contribute
ideas for two original scripts for 10-15 minute short films, starring,
developed and produced with their assistance. The results were two
films which told the time travelling adventures of young people
from the school. In PAST TENSE: The Chains of Time, Tommy travels back to Victorian times and learns the hardships of the chainshop, whilst in PAST TENSE: Our Big Fun Greek Adventure, a lost boy from Ancient Greece finds himself trapped in the present unless he can find the artefacts he needs to send him home. The films are set to become a legacy for the children involved as the school plans to use them as teaching materials for future years to explore historical facts. ____________________________________________________________________ STIMULATING

Infinite Wisdom has been selected to oversee the production of two innovative short films in conjunction with Creative Partnerships and Colley Lane School in Halesowen. The initiative is designed to show the vibrant creative and cultural industries scene born in the Millennium City, and to highlight the companies, organisations and creatives that are helping to raise the city's profile regionally, nationally and internationally. Born and raised in Wolverhampton, the company's founder Michael Ford is proud that Infinite Wisdom has been chosen as one of the selected representatives of its home city. Forged in the city the company has moved rapidly forward in its ambitions over the last few months with big plans for the coming year. Infinite Wisdom Productions is in development heaven after a successful award of upwards of £20,000 from Screen WM's Advantage Development Fund. The fund managed by Screen West Midlands on behalf of the regional development agency Advantage West Midlands, will see the company channel the funding into a slate of original feature films. The films (details of which can be found in the Feature Film section of this website here) will now be subject to a development campaign valued at more than £40,000, a sizeable portion of which will be provided by the fund. As 1 of just 18 regional producers to be granted the award in 2 years Michael Ford said "the funding will play a major part in shaping the future of this company, as both of the projects it will assist are viewed as major building blocks on our road to success". ____________________________________________________________________ FOURTH
